Common password manager questions
Are my passwords stored locally or in the cloud?
The vault is stored locally on your device, encrypted with your master password — not synced to a remote server you don't control.
What happens if I forget my master password?
Because the vault is encrypted locally with no server-side copy, there's no reset that bypasses it — that's the trade-off for not storing your data on a cloud you don't control. Keep the master password written down somewhere secure outside the computer.
Can I import passwords already saved in Chrome or Edge?
Yes — passwords exported from Chrome, Edge, or Firefox can be imported directly into the vault, so switching doesn't mean starting from zero.
How is this different from my browser's built-in password saving?
Browser-saved passwords are tied to one browser and its sync account. A dedicated vault works the same way across every browser you use, independent of your Windows or Google login.
